Fundamental Principles of Red Cross:

Humanity: Its an international non profit organization to help the wounded and prevent human suffering.

• Its purpose is to protect life & health & ensure respect for human being. It promotes friendship, peace & mutual understanding without discrimination.

• It is an independent entity.

• It is a voluntary relief movement & not prompted in any manner by desire or gain.

• Its humanitarian work is open to all.

• Its a worldwide institution in which all societies have equal status & share equal responsibilities & duties in helping each other.

• Its part of the world's largest volunteer network found in 200 countries.

Its founded by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881
